Five Make Ahead Breakfasts for Christmas Morning

The other day on Periscope, a blogger friend Oh Chic Mom was discussing ways to unwind during holiday stress. Her reason for the sudden added stress? She had just found out that she was hosting Christmas Eve Dinner for her fiance's family AND that her family wanted to do brunch the next morning.

We're also hosting Christmas Eve Dinner, and thankfully, brunch will be at my parents' house. But her situation got me thinking about make ahead breakfasts. So I thought a quick round-up was in order in case you need some inspiration.

Five Ways - Butternut Squash

The weather has finally turned chillier here in South Carolina, and it's time to bust out the heartier foods to warm our bellies. Last week, we received three butternut squashes, which is a favorite winter squash in our house.

Everyone loves a good roasted butternut squash soup!

Here are five ways to include butternut squash in your menu:

Recipe Round-Up 8.23.15

Hi friends,

As you can imagine, taking a few weeks away from the blog has meant that we have lots of recipes to share. So let's jump right into this recipe round-up and not waste any time.

Beef Enchiladas with Homemade Sauce from 12 Tomatoes [Recipe Round-Up at A Little Seed Grows - Blog]
I pretty much refuse to go out for Mexican anymore because I feel like we can do better at home (and I don't do cilantro), and I'm adding this enchilada recipe with homemade sauce from 12 Tomatoes to the line-up for our Mexican night.

Crockpot Pesto Stuffed Shells from Lauren's Latest [Recipe Round-Up at A Little Seed Grows - Blog]
My best buddy has a birthday next month, and Italian cuisine is his favorite. So we'll need to test drive this recipe from Lauren's Latest for crockpot pesto stuffed shells to see if it's up to snuff for a birthday dinner.

Quick and Easy Nourish Bowls from MJ and Hungryman [Recipe Round-Up at A Little Seed Grows - Blog]

MJ and Hungryman share a quick and easy formula for making nourish bowls, which would make great meals after jujitsu, as well as along with a few of their recent combinations.

Stuffed Bell Peppers with Quinoa, Chickpeas, Basil & Mint from Cherry Blossom Kitchen [Recipe Round-Up at A Little Seed Grows - Blog]
I have wanted to try a stuffed bell pepper recipe for what seems like forever, and I think this recipe from Cherry Blossom Kitchen with quinoa, chickpeas, basil and mint look like a great place to start. It will be perfect for these hot summer evenings.

Fresh Blueberry Ice Cream from Your Homebased Mom [Recipe Round-Up at A Little Seed Grows - Blog]
I received the ice cream maker attachment for my KitchenAid mixer as a birthday gift this month, so I'm itching to start making ice cream. Since we have several pints of blueberries in the fridge, this recipe for blueberry ice cream from Your Homebased Mom seems like a good place to start.

Meal Plan: Week of 8.1.15

Hi, friends!

Sorry about the absence last week; life got in the way, but we're back with another meal plan for the first week of August. Last month went fairly well; I think we only went out to eat twice rather than cooking.

This week's plan is based on what we've received in our Brown Box Veggies today. I must confess that I've never cooked okra before, but we're going to try it out. And you can see from the half empty pan below that tonight's dinner turned out well.

Meal Plan: Week of 7.18.15

Hi, friends!

It's time to share another meal plan with you. Last week, we stayed on track except for making nachos on Thursday since Dave wasn't feeling pizza. Having a plan has really been helping us stay in for dinner, which is helping the budget greatly.

This week's plan is based on what we've received in our Brown Box Veggies today...which involved a lot of greens so we're eating lots of salad this week.

Meal Plan: Week of 7.11.15 [A Little Seed Grows - Blog]
